Orientation Week
The first picture is a picture, but the others are slideshows of pictures, so scroll through them to see them all. :) If image is too small to see the whole picture or to read the whole caption, just click on it to enlarge it.

This is one of the many RMIT buildings. It is cool how the campus is integrated into the city.

This was a lecture about what the Student Union has to offer. It apparently has to offer free BBQ and beer on Wednesdays for lunch.

This is my class schedule. I have night classes on Monday-Wednesday and two classes early on Thursday. It isn't my ideal schedule, but at least I get a long weekend!

We found this hole in wall bar that was down this winding alley way with the most unusual theme. It is set up like a crazy science lab/insane asylum. It even sells drinks with syringes in them.

The bathroom of the Croft Institute has a gurney in the bathroom.

We went to a place called Dessert Story, a Taiwanese Restaurant. We originally went because I was told that I had to try bubble tea, but I ended up getting this thing. It is a mango mountain of snow ice.

I don't think this picture does it justice, especially since this is just one room.

So I found this sculpture that was really tall and intricate with a of different animals on it. I looked around the backside of the sculpture and found this poor little hippo squished underneath the dragon. He looks so scared!

They even have a little booklet where you can write down book reviews of the books you have read.

Orientation
So this week has been my orientation week for RMIT.
I have learned about life in Melbourne, how public transport works (as I said in an earlier post, I am directionally challenged), being a student at RMIT, saftey in Australia, and of all the fun activities and trips I should get involved with.
We spent most of our day in lectures but we did get to take a tour of the school.
Tomorrow we are doing an "Amazing Race" activity around Melbourne and then tomorrow night, the school is throwing a party for all international students.
I have officially enrolled in RMIT and have selected my classes!
New Friends and Adventure!
While at orientation, I met a lot of people, but I made my first two friends on Tuesday!
We went wondering around the city together and came upon some interesting things.
The Libraries
I found two very different libraries and I love them both!
First there is the Victoria State Library (Wally, I think you would like this). The library is huge and looks very stately with the architecture and the galleries of paintings.
The second library is the cutest and coolest library I have ever found. It is a small little shop where you just borrow any book in the store and either bring it back when you are done or leave a different book in its place.
